My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary by going back to the chapel we were married in and revisiting the restaurant from our first date.

I am one very lucky guy.

Who's the scamming me? And for what?

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Who? All religions.

For what? To control your behavior and steal your money in the name of tithe or other donations, including volunteerism.

What if I don't pay tithes? Why do they need to control my behaviour? Who even is "they"- my priest?

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world -2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I guarantee you've provided something of value. Either cash, donated items/food or your time.

Everything connected to religion is designed to control your behavior.

Any donated food was for foodbank drives. Is donating to the needy bad?

Most of the time I just annoy the priests with questions and theories or pointing out mistakes made in the liturgy.

And why do they need to control my behaviour - who is the individual scamming me?

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

As I said, religion as a whole is scamming you. Just by attending church, you're being "controlled". Very simple and obvious to understand.

Adios.

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Not really. You're not giving much of a motive. Who is religion? Who is in on the scam?

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You're intentionally being annoying. Go away. Brainwashed fool.

[–] JigglySackles@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

They aren't really. Just asking you to give backing to your position. You're getting worked up. I'm guessing it's probably a sensitive topic for you.

Not everyone has a bad experience in or with organized religions. Not everything about every church is broken. If you're taking an absolutist position that they are, that's as naive an approach as you are accusing them of.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I answered their questions. They just don't like the answers.

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You didn't, you just dodged them. You kinda sound a bit brainwashed tbh 🤔

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

No. The question was "who is doing the scamming".... Answer: ENTIRE religion.

Question 2: "how am I being controlled?"... simply by attending church is control.

Asked and answered.... Done with the BS of not accepting those answers.

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

So I am being scammed into doing nothing by nobody and I am being controlled because I opt to worship God alongside other people on the weekends? It sounds like a flat earth conspiracy theory, ie, what's the point/motive of "the big cover-up"?

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If you worship any "god", you've been brainwashed and scammed. End story.

Goodbye, sucker.

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 1 points 2 months ago

Maybe you're the one who's been brainwashed and scammed. Actually, you probably are the one who's been scammed. Sad, really.
