Former U.S. National Security Adviser General Mike Flynn caused an international stir by stating on social media that “Cuba is next ,” after expressing his support for Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado and the Venezuelan people.

The message, published on the X platform with the phrase “ You're next ,” was interpreted by analysts as a nod to a possible political change on the island , following recent calls for freedom in several countries in the Caribbean and Latin America.

Flynn, one of Donald Trump's closest former officials , has maintained a critical stance toward authoritarian regimes in the region and has reiterated his support for movements seeking to restore democracy in Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua.

The post generated mixed reactions: while some users celebrated the message as a show of solidarity with oppressed peoples, others considered it a political provocation. The Cuban government has not yet issued an official statement .

To be fair, the US forces put into Bay of Pigs was tiny and far from full scale commitment. That said, attacking Cuba now in the age of drone warfare could open a massive can of worms for the US if Cuba becomes a Yemen and plucks at US commercial ships, oil rigs and coastal assets in the gulf.

Not to forget that the implicit threat with further military shit into Cuba was the USSR firing a nuke at the US.

Thats not to say that modern Cuba stands alone, I can see countries like Angola and modern day Russia/China providing direct military aid as well as alligned southern and central american countries if it ever escelated this far.
