It's what they use to seal plastic bags of bread
how are bread bags sealed where you are? the thin plastic ones that are mass produced
around here, they still primarily use these clips, just often cardboard now. which is nice to see.
'real' bread that doesn't have enough preservatives to keep it for weeks and is made fresh is typically sold in a paper/plastic bag with a sticker closing it, or just an open end
Usually sliced bread is sealed with a bit of tape that has the best before date printed on it. Although it still only keeps for days rather than weeks, at a push you can probably get about a week before mould starts growing on it. Then real bread will probably start going stale by the next day.
UK here, our bread bags are sealed with a piece of tape. It can't be used to reseal the bag, but there's enough excess length on the bags that you can just tie them in a knot to reseal them
It’s a bag tie/clip. Often used on bags of sandwich bread.
