Today's game is Resident Evil 2 Remake. I've been wanting to play this for a bit for this month and finally got around to it these last few days. I made it as far as when the Big Grey Guy in the trench coat shows up. He really threw a wrench in everything because i went from having a few safe spots too not being safe anywhere.

The guy is constantly up my ass and there's like nowhere to hide from him. He makes it a lot more stressful, which is probably good for a game like this. It creates a sense of unease because nowhere really is safe it feels like.

Right now the current puzzle i'm working on is getting across this gap. I'm struggling to cross it right now because i need some sort of h-shaped handle to get across the bookcases on another hole. It's definitely one of those puzzles where you have to suspend your disbelief. Like, you're telling me Leon can't jump that gap?

The portable safe was an interesting challenge. It took a few tries and i struggled to remember the pattern, i got it though. It felt a bit like brute forcing the code. Honestly i was expecting a hint somewhere for it. But i managed to get it without.

Overall, The game is doing an amazing job of creating tension too. Like there's this constant ambience going on and you're never quite sure whether it's a zombie or just the wind. This alleyway especially i hear a lot of zombies. There's also the scarcity of ammo. The handgun doesn't seem to do much except stun them, so my only real option right now if i want them dead dead, is too blast there head off with the shotgun. Ultimately it helps create a good deal of tension because i can't kill all my problems and have to run a lot (like with the Big Guy).

That "Big Grey Guy" is one of the major reason I haven't tried the game. And well the fact that I don't like horror, but I am going to blame the Big Grey Guy!

I feel that lol. He really is a terrifying threat. I'm not used to my horror games basically throwing a big invincible enemy at me, especially for such a long period of time

If you’re playing on PC then mods are your friend here.

Remove him entirely or reskin him as Thomas The Tank Engine. Your decision.

Mainly play on console, but I'll keep this in mind for future. Thanks for the tip.
