I've been testing Lemmy as a Reddit replacement with mixed results for the past week or so. It has the capability to be better for sure, though I've come across some weird ass people so far.
I'm a sync for reddit user who migrated over and one of the things I love about sync for Lemmy is that you can block entire instances. I know it's in the works for Lemmy in general, but it really helps cull out the weird parts.
If you're using Sync, you can filter out all users/posts/communitiew/etc from the instances that have the masses of trolls/brigaders. It's in the filter settings.
Doing that has greatly improved my Lemmy experience.
