@Flatworm7591@lemmy.dbzer0.com (Unruffled), I have to tag you here since you locked the thread on db0. Please point me to these Hexbear moderators that supposedly defended the fascist murder of almost 30 million people because their leaders were the wrong kind of leftist and weren't banned for it. Forget demodding them, I'll gladly petition the admins here to ban them for advocating genocide.
I noticed the following in your profile when I went to find your username to tag you.
Do you think your own ethics and philosophy (for example, this Bakunin quote) are consistent with the stance taken by _cryptagion? Logically, this user's statements should be at least as repulsive to you as they are to us.
Fitting that someone running interference for a Nazi apologist has a quote from a rabid antisemite in their profile
Aren't anarchists supposed to be.. you know, anti-hierarichal? So, like you shouldn't be an antisemite and should de-associate or basically remove antisemities from their circle? I don't necessarily believe the user is also endorsing Bakunin's own antisemitism just through the Bakunin quote, but it does seem suspicious. (IDK lol)
The action here seems obvious anyway.
Whatever label he applies to himself, he's a liberal, and liberals hate socialists more than they hate fascists.
I'm not even concerned with that, I can at least see the anarchist argument for separating some of Bakunin's philosophy from his antisemitism - although I'd be cautious when doing that, that kind of extreme racial hatred is usually pervasive. I can't see the anarchist argument for excusing or defending the statements from _cryptagion.
Over something as silly as an internet link aggregator with a difference of ideology.
These types of "provocateur" posts are what we have to deal with from shitholes like 4chan soyjak and rdrama we don't need it from federated instances especially from someone using their matrix rooms to coordinate it.
Seriously, it's sad behavior. "Hmm today I will trick a younger person into advocating Nazi genocide to make the tankies mad." That's "reconsider your life and the decisions that led you here" stuff.
Ironically being a nazi is still being a nazi and it's used as cover by neo-nazis all time.
