I had an acquaintance who told me, “if a woman’s hitting me, they get three free punches before I start punching back”. Dude was trying hard to thread the needle between “a man should never hit a woman” and “my mom used to beat the shit out of me” and this is the garbled thing that fell out.
Not saying every man who’s obsessed about the situations in which he’s “allowed” to hit a woman was beat by their mom. I’ve met plenty who to my knowledge weren’t. Just saying it’s a self-imposed patriarchal rule that results in misdirected resentment regarding the rule
This reads exactly like the type of gun nut obsessed with "home defense". They spend all day arguing and grandstanding about the specific line where it becomes "okay" to kill someone. Then they kill a harmless old man with dementia who stumbled into their yard at 3 AM and it was a very regrettable accident. Personally, I think having a history of obsessing over this stuff should be sufficient to argue intent in court.
My mom used to beat the shit out of me and I've never thought about hitting women before lol.
It's always made up situations too. How common is it for a woman to randomly assault a man? And in the off-chance that it happens, why not use your "testosterone buff" to just pin them down and non-violently de-escalate?
