Funny thing, they could just declare everyone is eligible if they really cared about the employees...

Congress passed the Government Employee Fair Treatment Act of 2019 does basically that.

The Act requires that furloughed employees receive retroactive wages for the length of a shutdown at the standard rate of pay.

Right, what I was getting at more was the notion Trump is hinting at that "some of my people say that maybe they won't get paid, that'd be a terrible shame..."

They want to try and stuff workers and blame the Dems, but if the actually cared they could make it crystal clear today that everyone gets paid. Trying to act all helpless is just laughable.
