I can explain almost all of those behaviors.

When cats leave their legs up like that is because they got distracted and wanted to resume what they were doing, which they usually do. Remember they hear way better than you and can be focusing on something far away, so watch their eyes and ears. Sometimes they're watching whoever is watching them from the corner of their eye. Were you staring? They notice and don't like direct attention like that.

And cats often get a surge of energy at certain times of day that's linked to their circadian rhythm and/or hormones. It's not unlike people who suddenly get an urge to go on a walk in the afternoon or want to do a social activity with friends.

They're really not that mysterious. Lol
