Apart from whoever added maga.place to the defed list for feddit.uk (for the record, i'm not asserting that that was the wrong decision, just querying the reason behind it)
You don't have to. you have it within your power to block communities and instances in your account settings.
yes, this is how lemmy works.
by default (as i understand it) everyone is federated. instance admins have to manually defederate if they want to. hence this post from me, a feddit.uk user asking the mods/admins in a feddit.uk meta community why they chose to make that decision.
Like many things it seems, you're misunderstanding this...
If you're nicer, and asked questions, someone else might answer them, and you'll learn something
I have seen nothing to suggest this. please feel free to prove me wrong on that point
Please point out where i have been anything less than civil with anyone in the responses to my post
I did ask questions; this post was a question to the admins of my instance in a local community on my instance. It is of no concern to anyone who isn't a feddit.uk user
