Tbh i was looking forward to engaging in some debate with them.

did they break any actual rules or is it just because they're MAGA?

Edit: Before you angrily comment below (as so many have done so far) please keep in mind that this is a feddit.uk meta community and i am specifically asking the question to feddit.uk mods/admins and inviting discussion from feddit.uk users.

if you are not a feddit.uk user then this entire conversation DOES NOT AFFECT YOU. ~~I have yet to hear from anyone who actually is a feddit.uk user~~ Admin response here

Literally no one is…

Apart from whoever added maga.place to the defed list for feddit.uk (for the record, i'm not asserting that that was the wrong decision, just querying the reason behind it)

If you do t like it, go make an account on maga.place itself?

  1. i shouldn't have to
  2. for the same reason i left lemmy.ml, i am less subject to their (almost certainly shitty) moderation policies from a remote instance than i am from theirs

Why should everyone else have to deal with fascists because you want them around?

You don't have to. you have it within your power to block communities and instances in your account settings.

From what you’re saying… Every instance would have to federate with everyone…

yes, this is how lemmy works.

Or you can make your own and beg instances to federate with you I do t think you’ll get 100% tho

by default (as i understand it) everyone is federated. instance admins have to manually defederate if they want to. hence this post from me, a feddit.uk user asking the mods/admins in a feddit.uk meta community why they chose to make that decision.

as i understand it

Like many things it seems, you're misunderstanding this...

If you're nicer, and asked questions, someone else might answer them, and you'll learn something

I have seen nothing to suggest this. please feel free to prove me wrong on that point

If you’re nicer, and asked questions

Please point out where i have been anything less than civil with anyone in the responses to my post

I did ask questions; this post was a question to the admins of my instance in a local community on my instance. It is of no concern to anyone who isn't a feddit.uk user
