If you find an injured owl:

Note your exact location so the owl can be released back where it came from. Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitation specialist to get correct advice and immediate assistance.

Minimize stress for the owl. If you can catch it, toss a towel or sweater over it and get it in a cardboard box or pet carrier. It should have room to be comfortable but not so much it can panic and injure itself. If you can’t catch it, keep people and animals away until help can come.

Do not give food or water! If you feed them the wrong thing or give them water improperly, you can accidentally kill them. It can also cause problems if they require anesthesia once help arrives, complicating procedures and costing valuable time.

If it is a baby owl, and it looks safe and uninjured, leave it be. Time on the ground is part of their growing up. They can fly to some extent and climb trees. If animals or people are nearby, put it up on a branch so it’s safe. If it’s injured, follow the above advice.

Sooty Owl photos are harder to come across than I'd like. So happy to find these very dramatic poses from this beautiful bird!

I've tried reading about synesthesia many times but can never wrap my head around how it works or what it would feel like.

Looking at this example on Wikipedia, it makes me think of the program they work on in the show Severance!

Yeah, it does look like that! But I can't relate to numbers having colors at all. Music has colors.

E flat can remind me of a burnished gold. Or someone sings a note, and it's like I can see the overtones on a screen in front of me. Layers of shimmering sound waves up near the ceiling, maybe gold or silver or white depending on how the note is sung.

Or sometimes the fundamental has a rich, pretty gray, like this owl. I don't talk about it much because not everyone gets it, but I feel comfortable here and I know you like music :)

It always sounds like it would be distracting, but now you make me think it could be an advantage where you could get visual feedback on music that could help you learn songs quicker. Very intriguing stuff.

I may not exactly get it, but the only people I'll give a hard time to here are those that don't respect animals or the environment!

Yeah, it's good for that, or remembering different interpretations.

I saw you have a wedding coming up? Congrats! And I hope things work out with work.

I appreciate that! Everything wedding related is going well, and hopefully the work stuff will play out smoothly as well.
