Mob Psycho 100. Someone who likes normal shounen (Aca, Naruto) and also Dandadan would probably love Mob Psycho, and it's the first anime I'd recommend to someone her age generally. Also probably the first anime I'd recommend to someone generally after I rewatched Erased and realized how weird some of it is . . . not half as bad as Dandadan but that's not the benchmark we should be using.
If you take anything from me, take Mob Psycho, but if you want a couple that I'm pretty confident no one else will mention: Blood Battle Blockade and Akudama Drive. They occupy basically the same space in my head as extremely goofy action shows that look way better than they have a right to, though she's more likely to like BBB because it's closer to conventional shounen and honestly it's probably the better one anyway. BBB is a sort of whimsical fantasy thing that I don't even remember the premise of but iAkudama Drive is like a slightly edgy sci fi Ocean's 11 where a bunch of super-criminals get together to do a heist.
Also it'd be super weird to me if she didn't like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, but maybe that's because I haven't properly updated how I think of it for a decade, since a lot of people apparently don't even care about Naruto anymore. Back when I knew other people who like anime (when I was in school), FMA:B was still in an uncontested years-long reign at the top of MyAnimeList's rankings (it's somehow still at #2!!) and it would be freakish to see a teenage girl who likes anime but doesn't like FMA:B. I also love it, for the record, probably third after MP100 and Hunter X Hunter (which it's possible she'd like, but it starts super slowly, mostly not filler and instead actually laying groundwork, but also a little bit of filler).
Something beat FMA:B? I didn't even know it still wasn't #1 lol.
I fell asleep last night and had a hectic day working but I wanted to say thanks for taking the time to give me some more recommendations. The list is a quarter mile long at this point so I'm saving this thread to add to the list as it gets worked thru.
I'm just happy to contribute.
Also, it's maybe more shojo-y than her main preference (despite actually being a seinen!), but if no one mentioned Violet Evergarden, that's another one I'd bring up. It's a really sweet show and it still has a little bit of action because the MC is a cyborg combat veteran who has basically been hired as an interpretive scribe to help people send messages to each other. That looks really weird written out and there's probably some discussion worth having about sexist elements like the objectifyingly-gendered nature of her new job (especially interesting since, again, she's a combat veteran), but I still think it overall has a good heart.
