Tantura wasn't the only village they massacred near the beginning of Israel but an Israeli researcher went and interviewed the Israeli soldiers, he recorded their interviews as they admitted war crimes. They killed and buried in mass graves the residents of a village of prosperous fisherman then eventually bulldozed the town after the settlers built up their own houses.
There is a film made about the tapes that includes video interviews of those same soldiers because these massacres are so recent that the soldiers are still alive.

One side was being invaded and driven out of their homes defending themselves while the other side was invading and massacring with weapons and funding from Europe.
This is really all Europe and America's fault, they wanted to get rid of their Jewish problem and pushed them to go to a country with a population and culture already.
