Formalises borders, allows a legitimate Palestinian government to recognise sea and land borders.

Grants Palestine full diplomatic status and embassy in the UK that's probably going to be the Palestinian Authority btw.

Allows the UK to ban products that are produced by illegal settlements in the west bank or Gaza.

Increases pressure on Israel to deal with the situation rather than act the way it has been.

Overall it brings the PA up to a level the UK government can work with as a legitimate legal authority.

If Israel and the US refuse to recognize the Palestinian state, would it even matter if literally every other country in Earth recognized them? As long as the infinite money and weapon spigot flows from the US, what's the point?

It's all pressure and politics, and that pressure can be applied via sanctions internationally when they are tied to that recognition.

You're just asserting that this applies pressure, but this disregards that the US acts as a pressure release valve. It is impossible to pressure the 51st state. They will never have any trouble obtaining finance, weapons, equipment, electronics, fuel, food, or energy.

Until the US starts facing pressure there won't be any effect on Israel.

Honestly I just stared the possible outcomes of recognition. That's the end of my interest in the matter.
