Hello all, I'm hoping to get some feedback on whether I would like this game or not before I decide to buy. I love space games and the idea of it intrigues me but I like to have a narrative/story to give me a reason to 'do' stuff. I tend to quickly lose interest in sandbox type games because they start to feel pointless to me. I feel like I've seen conflicting reports on whether NMS is more narrative or sandbox.

Also, I'm a dad so I have limited time to play. If this is the kind of game that requires hundreds of hours before it gets good or to the 'story' (such as it may be), I probably won't be able to properly enjoy it.

Feel free to ask me anything else that may help you give a recommendation and thanks in advance! I honestly want to be convinced to pick it up but I have doubts. :-P

It's more sandbox than story, as someone with 300+ hours. The game strings you through some "get x, do y, listen to z" missions and the story overall is kind of neat, but if you're looking for more story it may not be the game for you.
