Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister today, Tuesday, condemned what he called a "treacherous Israeli attack" on Doha as an act of "state terrorism” – after a strike was carried out by ‘Israeli’ on a site in Doha where senior Hamas leaders gathered. Details of the Attack and Legal Action

Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed Al Thani said that authorities have immediately begun handling the incident and have identified the casualties, and that Qatar “reserves the right” to respond to ‘Israel’ after the attack.

I don't get Qatar. They have so much wealth but seem to play at weakness militarily. They could easily purchase their way to a large arsenal, and somehow never seem to need to. (Then again, I'm American and have been brainwashed to believe you need 35%+ of all taxes to go to weapons and soldiers)

I believe Qatar has America running their military systems and air defenses. And America literally turned off their air defenses so Israel could bomb Qatar.

Really goes to show how trustworthy American military equipment is.

Qatar has literal slave labour so peoples taxes being misapropriated is a comparatively minor issue. The answer is that Qatar is the US lapdog for oil extraction from the middle east, it houses the US middle east HQ and was the command central for the second iraq war. So they will make some hubbub to save face in front of the arab world but they would not dare do anything against the US attack dog in the middle east. They don't need their own military since they live by the grace of the US who would not sell them any arms anyway or let them purchase from a "hostile" nation.
