Proof of the indomitable human spirit.
Rules:
- Posts must inspire hope or highlight the beauty of existence
- Posts and comments harassing or antagonizing a real person will be removed
- Posts mentioning religious topics are allowed but religion should not be the main point of the post. E.g. “God’s beautiful world” is fine because of the “beautiful world” part, but “God loves you” isn’t because religion is the focal point
- Posts and comments judging group of people in negative way based on stereotype will be removed.
- No posts with toxic positivity. All human emotions are valid.
- Staight up doomer/doomer-trolling comments will be removed. Reasonable disscustion and asking for hope is fine.

At a certain point in your life you've turned the other cheek enough times for the same type of people.
I support the message in the abstract but as a commentary on current events I think we're past the luxury of pretending that everyone is working from an equally valid worldview.
There's a certain group of folks who are harming themselves and the rest of us because they are lagging so substantially in their own personal growth, and there's another group of folks that's actively trying to harm us all because of where their personal growth took them. While I may not be inherently superior to either group, I see membership in either as a choice, and they can go fuck themselves. And while that may be a slightly US-centric sentiment right now, I think those same two groups are causing trouble just about everywhere these days.
Wanting to be superior to assholes is lowering the bar. Wanting to be better than you were is raising it. I urge you to raise the bar!
I can do both! I believe in myself!
We can hold the understanding that hurt people hurt people, while also removing them from power. In the Kali mythology, she didn't drink blood from bloodlust, but to prevent the rise to power of more of those ("offspring") who delight in suffering and destruction, to the best of my memory, which may be faulty, it's been a long time since I immersed myself in her mythos. I do find value in the Tao te Ching, as well, chapter 31 would address this. https://github.com/nrrb/tao-te-ching/blob/master/Ursula%20K%20Le%20Guin.md
But hey, that's my personal perspective, obviously not everyone shares it, nor are obligated to it.
There is no wanting... Are you saying you aren't superior to Trump?
I know I'm superior to him. And I hope every single person in this thread feels the same, assuming it's true, of course.
