Lemmy currently does not enjoy a big enough user base where niche topics can exist independently and still be active. This place is to aggregate slice of life content. Hopefully an active community for this beautiful genre can be fostered.

You can still do that :) I regularly go out without my phone.
Yes, you can also ride a horse or wear a chainmail. It is still possible. Just not widespread anymore.
While not widespread, I hope this will not stop you. If you want this kind of peace in your life, I strongly suggest disregarding contemporary conventions and just doing it. There is a norm of always having your phone and always being available, but you may depart from this norm. Everyone is used to me being "off the grid". In a sense, this is an act of setting boundaries.
You need an act. The act of drinking beer. Beer is old. 3-5 thousand of years. Still actual. Do it. :)
