If Germans denazified why were so many government and business leaders in West Germany "former" Nazis?

I've met scads of Germans and many were very right wing, thanks. You can't cover for them with condescension alone, which is another common German attribute.

it's a good point and I believe you. however I also don't blame people for thinking otherwise. organizations like the hiag definitely didn't help
