UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I get that they want to do something.... But this is just dumb as fuck. It will only embolden Yvette Cooper into proscribing more Palestinian active groups as terrorists.
Instead they should complain on Lemmy about people actually opposing genocide.
As long as they hurt goods and not people there is no problem.
That's not how deceptive authoritarian governments work 🤣
It is how public sentiment works, as long as they do not kill anyone or hurt anyone, it is much more difficult to demonize them.
Actually this makes simple people who only follow mainstream media to find out how committed the west is in arming genocide.
"simple people"... Jesus Christ the arrogance 😅😂.
Well how would you call them? Regular folks, ordinary humans, majority of the masses..? You tell me. Not necessarily a bad trait, although mentally lazy in my opinion.
There was a "the Onion" headline for this kind of criticism: https://theonion.com/protesters-urged-not-to-give-trump-administration-pretext-for-what-it-already-doing/
