Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

A few days ago my main account ( @irelephant@lemmy.dbzer0.com ) and a few of my alts were banned for vote manipulation. (https://lemmy.ca/modlog?page=1&actionType=All&userId=20988171)

While i did upvote 2 posts with the alts, they were both by a friend, and I knew the posts were going to get downvoted anyway. I have since removed the votes (that i know of).

There could be a few posts I upvoted by mistake on an alt without realising I already voted on it.

That's... some pretty twisted rationalization on your part. I'm not saying it deserves a lifetime ban or anything, but at the same time, please leave that kind of entitled "the rules don't apply to me and my friends unless I feel like they should" mentality in the trash. I know I might be wasting my time if you're truly into the anarchy mindset but like, anarchy only works until the moment your needs overlap with another person's needs, and a community like this is full of people with different needs, and if you try shoving your views where they're not wanted, that kind of anarchy has consequences and you're going to suffer them. Including but not limited to bans, and general lack of sympathy.

I don't think the rules shouldn't apply to me, and I would understand if the admins here don't want to unban me. I'm making this post because I'm hoping providing some additional context, and removing the offending votes would be enough to get me unbanned.

Also: as an anarchist, anarchism isn't a lack of rules, it's for the abolishment of hierarchy. An anarchist society would absolutely have rules.
