Boomers are pure idealists. They are acutely unaware that they live on earth and are subject to the forces of nature. This is why they're so comfortable with politics that are sold to them as promising infinite wealth in exchange for planetary destruction. They cannot be bothered with something as alien (to them in their profoundly alienated lives) as the water cycle.
