After several calls with this landleech who was clearly interested in renting out to me and after several of their requests for documentation were fulfilled (yes, GDPR and other privacy adjacent laws are a scam and in here landleeches will absolutely ask for your employment contract, not sure if it's also a thing in yankeeland, but your choice is to either not live under a roof or do a little self-doxxing for the 5% chance they'll accept you. The scummy thing is, going for the latter means they absolve themselves because you "willingly" gave out sensitive documentation), they ultimately decided to turn the offer down on me... I was very much able to afford the place.. No response was given after asking for reasons why.. You can take your guess as to what their reason might've been...

Like, as a Westerner, you are respected and welcomed in much of the Global South TO A FAULT, but you can't even extend the slightest sympathy for immigrants in your part of the world whose countries were economically and/or physically destroyed by the very same Western institutions you grew up in? I'm not from a war-torn/economically-torn country myself, so this realistically wouldn't affect me as much, but my god the mental race gymnastics that these fucks go through is mentally draining, and must be at least 50x worse for those not as fortunate as I am.
