No shit, the democrats have been losing elections like that since the Clintons in large part drove the party towards neoliberalism

But the thing is, they win even if they lose, because that's what they and their party are being funded to do. The democrats' donors would MUCH rather they "moderate" (read: copy Republican policy) even if it loses them elections, because as long as they aren't being taxed or regulated or whatever by ACTUAL LEFT WING POLICY then THEY WIN. The candidates don't give a fuck, if they win they get power, if they lose they get paid a shitload to play pretend that they're a celebrity whose opinions matter.
