Submit new emoji here.
A good submission is:
- Visually clear at a small size (120 pixel width) [This does not mean upload the small image, this means upload the source image or full size cutout but test prior.]
- Have a transparent background to the greatest degree possible. This online tool can remove many backgrounds.
- Display a clear emotion or purpose
- If including text, should be properly sized to be readable
- "Evergreen" and not something that will be irrelevant after the next news cycle
- Formatted in PNG, GIF, or SVG to make our file optimization cycles easier. If svg initially, send svg in a seperately hosted link to WhyEssEff. Same with gif, as we render them as mp4 IIRC.
- Have proposed title as the title of the post, nothing more, nothing less.
- Post body should include a suggested category and keywords.
- Max height of 3 times the width.
Rules:
- No reactionary or reactionary-adjacent expressions. The purpose of an image is what it expresses. Some clear examples for this rule:
- Allowed: Broken fasces, burning stars-and-bars, rotated Mussolini
- Disallowed: Body-shaming, Pepes, gay-shaming the enemy (e.g. those pictures of Putin and Trump that libs love to post), certain hateful wojaks (even if recontextualized)
- If you think you have touched on a grey area, see rule 7 for how to litigate this.
- ~~Nothing Vaush-related is allowed~~
- To be honest, I broke this rule, so it's pretty much moot. Just run it by me first in DMs or matrix. Vaush is a bit of a dead horse, so to speak, so they're still generally discouraged. The qualification for a viable emote referencing his existence is more a matter of execution

- No desecration of religious imagery.
- This rule does not extend to the subordinate representations of religious symbolism present within the flags and/or iconography of nations, political parties, or militant groups.
- Nothing sexually explicit or overtly horny is allowed
- :hentai-free:
- No sectarianism in submissions. Pro-tendency content is fine, but we will not accept content degrading specific tendencies.
- No gore, no SA, no sui-bait. Nothing that could reasonably trigger a comrade.
- If you think you're touching on a grey area with a submission, message @whyesseff:matrix.org to clear it before you post.
- DISCLAIMER: Clearing does not necessarily mean that I'll add it, just that it's alright to submit and the rules will not be the barrier to its addition

(I assume you meant anti-zionism comrade). This is my only concern about the emoji, full stop. We do also have
, which I think avoids the anti-Semitic catnip. I really just think the fact an anti-semite was very excited to get the emoji gives me pause.
Does the fact that Zionists would be very excited about the fact that we don’t have the burning zionist flag emote also concern you? Or is a current ongoing genocide somehow less important than a genocide that victimised Europeans?
See my main post. I want to see an IRL flag surrounded by fighters which would probably piss Zionists off more
I support the irl flag idea but your comment really set me off. I’m so done with people here protecting zionist symbolism over concerns of antisemitism as if a past genocide is somehow more urgent than a current one.
Where do you see me giving a fuck about the feelings of Zionists? I think my position is very clear - it's not concerns around anti semitism of the flag, it's the literal use by anti semites that's my concern. Just because there's a genocide isn't an excuse to accommodate racist wreckers. Let's make it hard for them and at the same time glaze the axis of resistance fighters
Why would an anti-semite care whether it was a real world or emoji art flag burning? I don't think there's anyone making that distinction. Even super racist white supremacist anti-Semites will just say "and look, even the Untermenschen (resistance) hate them" and post it. This just doesn't seem to make that difference?
I'm not opposed, but only because I think it'd be pretty cool to use a real life version to glaze the resistance. Just not convinced it has any impact on the original debate at all
It's not the IRL as such, it's the presence of freedom fighters from the axis of resistance that would make it less appealing. But that's because usually racism and anti-Semitism go hand in hand, it's not 100% correlation ofc.
But that's exactly what I mean! A white supremacist anti semite would just say "even the [insert racism] Arabs can see the [insert anti semitism] of the Jews"
It just doesn't solve the problem. Thats only solved by handling the racist themselves
When did this happen ?
I could swear there was a poster two weeks ago basically complaining for an israel-cool emoji that was really on the border of anti-Semitism, but maybe I'm misremembering that one. Still, see my main post, I think including armed fighters burning a flag is more anti-zionist and less likely to attract anti-semites
Not just on the border quite literally anti-semitic. It is in the mod log. I have said my piece. All the people calling for my banning over this bullshit can frankly go fuck themselves I am done here.
https://hexbear.net/comment/6386227 specifically check the part about "caring for a group that overwhelmingly supports genocide" referring to us listening to concerns of Jewish comrades that didn't like the thought of a burning star of david as an emoji even if it was the Israeli flag. This argument is almost identical to the one Z_poster was making but with the added step of essentially saying "most Jews are genocidal". I never accused Z of being anti-semitic just a total fucking asshole that constantly stirred up shit and was frequently hostile to anyone they disagree with.
Yeah shit like that post is why I think an IRL flag burning by Hamas or other resistance fighters is the correct emoji
That would frankly be better than most of the flag burning emojis in general. Though I don't think it would be too easy to find a lot of instances of people burning the danish flag by anyone cool for example.
Actually I stand corrected lol
I think that zposter is believed to be an anti semite ?
