Moscow, Aug 15 (EFE) - The Russian brand that sells white sweaters bearing the USSR acronym, like the one worn by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov upon his arrival in Alaska on Friday, has sold out of the garment, according to Russian television.

According to REN TV, this information was confirmed by several customers who were unable to purchase the item, which caused a stir on Friday following images of the minister that quickly went viral.

Meanwhile, the brand's creator, Yekaterina Varlakova, said it was "a great honor and joy" for her that the head of Russian diplomacy wore the sweater with the acronym CCCP (USSR in Russian).

Upon arriving at the summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska, Lavrov urged "not to get ahead of ourselves."

Lavrov, along with presidential adviser Yuri Ushakov, is part of the "reduced" delegation accompanying Putin in the first part of the talks with Trump. EFE
