It's literally a narcissist tactic called "reactive abuse"
If you're the one with all the power, bait the victim into standing up for themselves and exaggerate your hurt to leverage your social capital and take away the one thing the victim had: the perception of being the victim. All done with a big punchable smirk on their face.
