I did the same. No money to Google and I have a pixel 8 with GrapheneOS
What provider worked? Also, no worries about malware in firmwar?
I'm not in USA. But I'm pretty sure everyone
If you install from the official site and you don't buy a pixel with GrapheneOS pre-installed, you're fine. What kind of malware you expect to get?
I don't know. I hear about backdoor in Chinese chips all the time, but it could be propaganda.
Then that's hardware and not software/firmware
