He probably felt his Superman costume was incomplete with only one S.
When you do actions that would make Superman look at you in shame, you need to rethink your actions. Especially if you fucking played the character and worse the costume. It's one thing if you're already overweight Lex Luthor but you never learned some compassion from one of the most honest and completely good characters in all of fiction that you portrayed? Sheesh what a douche.
Clearly, you have no familiarity with the original comics. 😅😶
I didn't read any comics either
Care to give us some hints of examples?
Was thinking of superman always as alien immigrant, who saves lives
Maybe I'm wrong, but I was more into batman, knight rider and MacGuyver in my childhood.
Would really love to hear some stories :-)
You can check !superdickery@lemmy.world but there are only a few posts. Go over to reddit for an extensive look
You can look them up very easily. Everyone's time is precious, don't be lazy. 😚
No I do not and most of my knowledge comes from animated stuff after the 80s. Plus some minimal comic reads but never enough for a full story, except one of other timeline stories I read as a full story. Oh a couple all star ones where he was pretty good. But yeah I am going with stuff that's not original and still before Dean Cain ... Unless I'm mistaken then I'm wrong shrug I'm wrong often. But not wrong enough to be an ICE agent at least.
Mean I read Superman is a dick when it was a website (I do miss scrolling through those comic covers) now curious how much of a dick he was.
Go, be investigative. It's a treasure trove of short rabbit holes that's more of a prairie dog paradise.
In short, Superman has always been propaganda, from the very concept to the first page on up to modern day. He was always a psyop first, and every story was slapped on around that irradiated, sickening core.
Have fun!
Art is revealed through the eyes of the person who experiences it. If that's what you took away, then that's for you.
Not for me. In my mind the best superheros do what's best for all, whatever sacrifices it needs. That's what I like superheroes, they try to make it better for everyone without taking their doom into account. I know it's not realistic but it's nice to think someone would act like that for everyone, we need more people acting selflessly.
Also yes I know this doesn't apply as a blanket statement for fictional heros. But sometimes media brings very awesome ideals out. Also I already said I didn't read a lot but taken what I know, I like ideals. He was for humans to prosper.
Dude. It's literally spelled out in the words he says/thinks and actions he takes in numerous issues across the entirety of his comic book history. This is not some arcane factoid, so just breathe. The ancient saying "No one should have to meet their hero." exists for a reason. Recognize you're cherry-picking or leave it to those around you to have to realize you're willfully naive. Up to you.
Well, "Superman" literally translates to Übermensch.
I learned a long time ago everything was bullshit. Now I'm watching other people start to understand. 🥲
