JD Vance’s team had water level of Ohio river raised for family’s boating trip

A lightweight news hub to help decentralize the fediverse load: mirror and discuss headlines here so the giant instance communities aren’t a single choke-point.
Rules:
If the river can be raised it often may be done for simply moving items on the river. Nothing unusual here. Lake dropped 2 inches to raise the depth 2ft for a short time.
So any citizen can call up and request the river be raised so their family can take a boat trip?
I wouldn't be too surprised if there's a process if needed and maybe a fee. It's fairly common on canals where barges may be carrying larger items which increase draft.
