Worth nothing that the few people who actually worked 996 in China were extremely well-paid execs that could employ people to do watch their kids and clean their shit, dine out everyday and retire at 55
Shitty dommed-to-fail techbro startups doing ai waifus are not going to provide that
Edit : Apparently not, I heard that from a pro-China travel bro so probably pretty biased
That’s not quite true, I’ve got Chinese friends who do/did 996 on entry-level grad jobs for very average salaries.
996 isn’t as prevalent as the West likes to paint it as, but it’s also not as uncommon as you’re saying.
Chinese people work hard, and I know loads of young people who are already burnt out and looking for some kind of escape. They’re not that different from us.
I take note, thanks for the correction
All my friends who do 996 said they get an hour for breakfast, 2 hours for lunch and nap, and an hour for dinner, so they end up only working about 9 hours a day
If capitalists are fucking you in the ass it's because China's capitalists did it first, if China is doing something positive then it's communist propaganda, and if your capitalist country is doing something good then it's a win of democracy over the authoritarian state of China
A lot of 996 workers aren't / weren't well paid though, it's just liberal tech bro culture
Also I don't think it was ever lawful
