They really, really thought as hard as they could for a "dirty brown people country" to attach this too, didn't they? Couldn't of said that it'll be like the coke in Australia, or Europe, or much of the world, had to specifically invoke racist imagery about India here, because of course they did.
EDIT: Apparently this is an Indian newspaper, which makes a lot more sense for why they would mention India. Turns out I was the real racist all along or something.
