Am I being overly cynical, or are these neoliberal types really disinterested in people of color’s history.

I never expect them to mention Fascist colonialism in Afrasia, but you would think that maybe they’d look more interested in something America-centered, like indigenous people in the era of formal segregation, the relations between Black people and the American tribes, or even just 21st century relations between U.S. citizens of colour. Unless I need to get out more, I never see them casually bring up subjects like those.

Instead, they’d rather applaud alternate history like the Hamilton musical for portraying white historical figures with actors of color, and then there are methods like Bretagne’s where they simply hammer a minority into the scene somewhere and call it a day. There is just something about the neoliberal approach to diversity and inclusivity that feels very artificial.

The alternative is unthinkable. The sacred institutions having committed heinous crimes is such a shocking concept, liberals physically can't wrap their heads around it.
