If you don’t like fighting enemies of a higher level than you, you’re better off holding off on that quest and focusing on other quests or doing side quests like the bounty missions and gaining more XP to get closer to that level 30. It’s going to be a while to get up to that point, but you can do like the other person recommended and adjust your difficulty if it’s not already adjusted.
Light spoilers, but the Freestar Rangers quest lines leads into a massive battle at the end and has a lot of challenging enemies, or maybe they’re not so much challenging as much as it’s a giant horde you need to deal with. You’re going to likely want to level up some more so you won’t have too many issues on that last part.
There is also some strategy to be had here. Stock up on a lot of resources, both ammo and health fortifying and healing resources, to help give you the best shot. Also consider what companion you take with you and what gear they have. Find the best suited for battles and best gear to share with them.
