The mastodon and lemmy content I’m seeing feels like 90% of it comes from people who are:

  • ~30 years old or older

  • tech enthusiasts/workers

  • linux users

There’s nothing wrong with that particular demographic or anything, but it doesn’t feel like a win to me if the entire fediverse is just one big monoculture.

I wonder what it is that is keeping more diverse users away? Is picking a server/federation too complicated? Or is it that they don’t see any content that they like?

Thoughts?

There's a poll about the age of Mastodon users currently open... More than **34 000 ** voters until now! The results are interesting: more than 80% of users are 28 years old or more... More than 40% are more than 40 years old.

Is Mastodon the social network for grown up people?

Being new to both Lemmy and Mastodon, how do I now access your link logged in? I am on mastodon.social and cannot log in there. How can I open this link with my Mastodon App to take part in that poll?

Copy the link in your search module inside your favorite Mastodon app, or on your Mastodon.Social web interface and you should see the toot and vote yourself.
