It's not a problem if you have a modicum of patience (the video takes like 10 seconds longer to load and that's all I'm seeing different), but I do love the passive-aggressive little "Experiencing interruptions? Find Out Why" popup they've implemented to show up in the bottom corner. So, so petty. Whatever executive came up with that idea is an absolute tool lol

You can block that pop up with ublocks picker tool

I quite like it, makes me feel powerful when I scoff at it because I'm also a petty bitch 😂 thank you for the advice though, I appreciate it!

“Experiencing interruptions? Find Out Why”

I just assume they are skimping on support, like all those 'higher than normal call volume' bullshit.

Oh no, the link explicitly blames browser extensions like ad blockers -- they're fully intentionally trying to trick people into disabling and blaming their ad blockers

I don’t think this will do what they think… While i understand their pop up, the general public is just going to say “huh, youtube is slow” and either move on, complain to their isp, but a new computer, or stop using YouTube and spend more time on insta/tiktok. My parents for example, have done the first three (well they almost bought one until I convinced them why it’s happening) and are working on just not using YouTube as much.

True, I am seeing a bit of movement off of youtube to other platforms. Ticktok/Insta for most. At least the younger friend group.

Youtube may go the facebook way if they continue what they are doing. There is competing services in the space, but nothing that has a "killer feature". Youtube has the network effect. But so goes twitch. Nebula, etc...

Yes, they are lying just like the call centers with their higher than normal call volume every single time I call. It doesn't matter how clear their lying message is worded, they are lying.

I'm not seeing any delays in playing with Firefox and uBlock Origin.
