Hello! As the piefed API has been released a week or so ago, i'm wondering of photon will ever support it? The APIs are very similar, so it would not need much modification to get it working.

For reference:

Tesseract, mlem, voyager and thunder are all interested in getting piefed support soon. Interstellar already supports it.

Tons of huge instances have decided to run a piefed instance, too:

  • piefed.blahaj.zone
  • piefed.world
  • piefed.ca
  • quokk.au
  • slrpnk.net (potentially, in the future)
  • dbzer0.com (potentially, in the future)

Thanks in advance!

I really want to rewrite my API code to make it server agnostic, so I can support many fediverse platforms at once. If I add Piefed support the quick way, there'll basically be a bunch of checks saying "if server = Piefed, hide this button".

I could do it the quick and dirty way right now if that's what people want.

edit: quick and dirty method will take less than a week, proper method will take months

@Xylight @fxomt Photon is really great hearing that you are thinking of supporting other fediverse platforms is exciting! I would say its worth taking your time and doing it the right way so we can get closer to have Piefed, Mbin and a bunch more on the horizon!

Well, my heart says do it quickly, but my brain says take your time :) (Jk though, i ain't the dev, you do what you feel is best!)

Thanks for answering, this is great!

It doesn't have to be that quick and dirty, up to you I would say
