Post the names of youtubers and other internet microcelebs you hate with a burning passion based on vibes alone. I am aware that youtubers are an inherently reactionary group of organisms ^[it-is-known ], but some suck at statistically significant levels.

As soon as I saw Callaghan on that doomscroll podcast I blocked that garbage instantly. No way am I trusting the judgement of a podcast host who invites a known sex pest on. He had already had several guests with really detestable views (Dasha) but someone who admitted to SA shouldn't have a platform.

What is Doomscroll's MO? I keep getting it recommended to me but I never watch it because my podcast backlog is too long as it stands.

It seems like he's a stupidpol guy who wants to reach the kind of people who like Jreg to get them to like social democracy by going against the stereotypical image of a leftist. I gotta say that it was nice at the beginning, the episode with Yung Chomsky was really good. But as it went on it started to acquire more and more of a "we're not like the woke left" vibe (pretty obvious when he invited Dasha, but I never watched that episode).

What is Jreg's deal? I've seen some of their videos and they're kinda funny, but he does give me sus vibes even though it's all satire.

Polcomp brain incarnate. I'm unsure if he actually believes in the political compass or just acts like he does as part of the bit under multiple layers of irony, but the result is the same.

[–] Bay_of_Piggies@hexbear.net 1 points 3 hours ago

I just think it's funny, yeah polcomp is stupid, but that is the point I think

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 4 points 12 hours ago

He's doing a really good bit IMO, but it also means he's normalizing all the different ideologies he portrays. He seems to have a very young audience and a lot of them claim to be fascists or other far right ideologies, probably due to his influence.

[–] SteamedHamberder@hexbear.net 16 points 22 hours ago

IIRC he had will-fancy on who kind of pushed back on him being so self-serious

[–] GeneralSwitch2Boycott@hexbear.net 13 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

He's not stupidpol, he's basically Adam Curtis redux. A radlib gawker from the sidelines.

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 7 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

GeneralSwitch2Boycott is Based_Ball is Jreg

Jreg went on Doomscroll

anyone else see the implications of this?

[–] GeneralSwitch2Boycott@hexbear.net 7 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Did Based_Ball call people radlib gawkers or something? I'm not understanding what you're saying/implying.

[–] Mindfury@hexbear.net 7 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

i don't even know who Jreg is, but I know that Based_Ball is Jreg

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 6 points 20 hours ago

IDK but I do still think adding "the" to the slur filter would be a great bit.

[–] gramxi@hexbear.net 8 points 21 hours ago

it's meta slop
