Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

Yeah I don't know. I want to believe people can do it, to be honest. Leaders do seem messed up but it feels to me that the problem is just accepting that. Shit should be burning in the streets all over the "western world".
I get human brains aren't made to ward off the propaganda but I can't empathise with an inability to bring some/any logic to bear. I'm not immune to propaganda, I used to read the Economist. What I can't understand is people who cannot grow past convenient nonsense.
Edit: second thought, I don't represent the neurodivergent but my personal feeling is "normal" people don't care about what's true. That could just be my own obsession, I do physics for a reason.
Yeah, with respect, I think you’re painting with a broad brush. Out of curiosity, are you old enough to remember a time before the internet? I can’t understate how complete the trance of reality was back then. It isn’t a coincidence that people used to fall in line with a different aesthetic for every decade—the media hypnotism was extreme and got us all to feel like these things were important. The second the internet provided exposure to any subculture you wanted regardless of what television was pushing, suddenly that conformity went out the window.
They taught the radicals that coming armed with flowers instead of guns was the right way to do it. The most famous leaders of the “resistance” taught non-violence to the point of self sacrifice as the only way to protest with honor. Anyone who went against that (Malcolm X) got pushed to the sidelines as a kook or a terrorist. There were no dissenting sources you could go to.
This approach has been passed down to younger generations as “the way it’s done”. Only recently has it been acceptable to seriously discuss violent resistance, and that is entirely a product of the internet making new input available combined with real fascism emerging.
For violent protest to work, you need numbers, and to get numbers, you have to convince a brainwashed populace that the ways we’ve been taught to resist are bullshit. That takes time and bridge building rather than blame. Leftists should be finding angry progressives and talking about the results that French protests can produce. Some of them will see the point.
