I keep seeing this "second lowest" claim.

I haven't done much research on the subject, but I've yet to find the lowest.

Nothing ever really resolved itself after 2008; we simply kicked the cans down the road while the same villains made out like, ya know, bandits.

Bankers should have served prison time. Corporations should not have been bailed out. We veered heavily from collective prosperity, and our "leaders" decided to poach the middle class as a worthy sacrifice.

We are still feeling the aftershocks.

I mean, really the trade off was prolonged pain vs immediate suffering. However this time around it's completely unrelated to 2008 or anything in financial systems this is all Trump and Republicans doing.
