I have van. Now I'm waiting for an assessment of whether the reversing camera can be installed without a new head unit ๐ค
It is nice sitting up high and being able to see further, but it will take a while to get used to primarily using the side mirrors. I have so far managed to avoid turning on the windscreen wipers instead of the blinkers.
Edit: this is taking much longer than anticipated.
2nd Edit: I will need a new head unit. The good news is they can do it tomorrow, so will be able to back more confidently very soon. I did manage to back into my carport without too much trouble when I got home, although the sensors' beeping adds a new feeling of drama to the process.
if your existing headunit doesnt have carplay/android auto just replace the headunit anyway. its a game changer!
Seconding getting the head unit upgraded to one that has carplay/android auto (if it doesn't already) - it makes SO much difference. Got it done on my car and while it was a strain on the wallet in one hit, it has paid off in scads from all the times it has made navigation etc so much better (and safer) than a mounted phone.
It will be having android auto - it has some connection already, but it might just be to play music. I have a TomTom gps unit that I actually really like for navigation, both because it keeps the maps downloaded and doesn't need internet connection and because the dashboard or windscreen mount position is better to look at than in the centre console.
