MODERATORS
Not that it helps him but I really hope this was just a coincidence and has nothing to do with the stress he has been under at Ajax. He was under a lot of pressure to resign and heavily criticized from inside and outside of the club AFAIK. Maybe the criticism was justified but still feels awkward now that everyone in the media was piling on telling how bad he was.
He certainly was criticised a lot, in my opinion mostly justified. I think the problems started with Overmars and his fucking dickpics. Van der Sar handled that fairly poorly and with Overmars gone suddenly van der Sar didn't seem nearly as capable.
Public speaking also isn't his strong suit. He spoke in the stadium a few times and of course in many interviews and I guess people just didn't have the confidence that he was suitable in his role. After a while it became a matter of public opinion. When he lost the fans and the press there was no going back.
Obviously none of this means he deserves any medical problems. The accumulation of stress couldn't have helped and it's only been a couple of weeks.
I expext the media and people to eflect on this and feel bad... for about a week.
