A few months ago I was wondering what to get my girlfriend for her birthday. Her favourite animal is the guinea fowl, so when I saw a pattern for one, I decided I will learn to crochet and make her a guinea fowl plushie.

Well, after a lot of youtube tutorials, a few small and one medium-sized project, last week I decided it's time and started working on the bird.

Took me a few days of on and off crocheting, but I just finished and OMG, I love it!

It's certainly not perfect, the seams around the neck are absolutely tragic, but overall, I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Impressive for a first go! Is the pattern available?

It wasn't actually as hard as it looks. The colour changes were definitely intimidating at first, but surprisingly manageable. The pattern is by June Gilbank and is for sale on her site or Etsy
