Is there a way to get back items co-op farmhands were holding onto? (lemm.ee)

Basically I gave some items to a couple people who played on my farm once and can't get them to come back and drop them back off from their inventories. Is is possible to get my items back without them needing to join and drop them?

So it seems you need to destroy their cabin, and then everything gets dumped into the chest.
