Overview:
The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.
Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.
America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.
America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

Sorry, it's been ten years of this. I'm kinda done with giving nuance to Americans.
Harsh? Maybe, but when even the Democrats are caving in to Trump's demands for fuck all reason, I'm just done caring about what the thoughts of people down South are.
Literally been told by "left-wing" Americans that my thoughts and opinions on their politics don't matter even with the bullshit going on, and all I can think of is how I as someone over the border wouldn't have to fucking care if they treated this guy like the fucking threat they supposedly see him as rather than do nothing more than tell people to vote as if that's some big fucking accomplishment.
If getting out to vote is supposedly all that people could have done against this and nothing else (their words and actions, not mine), then yeah, ya get what ya vote for.
Maybe taking a break from politics to get your energy levels back up is not a bad idea. This political stage being played by what seem to be litlle children with bad parents can be quite exhausting.
Fighting trough the tiredness and just not bothering to do what you think is right is not a good solution. It might be better to be offline for a bit.

Exactly the kind of sentiment the people in power making these batshit decisions want. They want people making vapid generalizations, they want people reacting instead of thinking. Acting out against each other instead of working together.
You're sick of this shit? We have to fucking live it. You want to give up? Fine. But don't blame others when things don't get better, while you sit on your high horse and the world burns around you. Cause it sure as fuck isn't limited to the US, it's just easier to ignore everything but because the US when they're falling so far from where most people there thought they were.
I'll rephrase it for you: You get what you don't resist. Also known as: History is made by the people who show up. The crux of the issue is that when it mattered, most people in America didn't show up (and no, I'm not talking about election day). Americans collectively share responsibility for not showing up, and nothing is going to change until they decide to show up. It's that simple.
Arguably, the systems that have lobotomized the US were set up by people who are so old they're becoming president or dead. Lots of money is spent to make it hard to even see what is going on, let alone how to do something about it.

I ain't the one giving up, I've hardly bought a single U.S. made product at the store since this nonsense started, and this entire ordeal has invigorated me to get more involved with my community and organizations that stand for the causes I believe in. I take a look at how voters and party members down south act for the most part on BOTH sides of the aisle, and the big conclusion I constantly come to is how Americans just seem to have a knack to give up on anything that supposedly matters to them.
I can go on all day about things that have happened over the years that have led me to that conclusion, but quite frankly it's a lost cause if it takes someone outside borders to explain politics within them, assuming that people will even care or respect what people have to say outside borders to begin with.
Now imagine how much worse it is actually being here and being one of the targeted groups.

I’m not saying it’s not bad or scary, I’m saying it’s worse to be here and a target. Living in Canada is the fucking dream for some people here right now. You’d think this wouldn’t be particularly outrageous to say, and yet.
That stuff isn't happening here (yet) because we're fighting in ways that you refused to for the last decade. Even then, that fight involves sacrificing our economy which will cause all forty million of us to suffer and possibly facing outright military invasion. Apparently that's worth belittling us for. you don't understand anything about the complex dynamics...multi generational defunding of education, over working, calculated burnout. the problem is there's a significant portion of people that quite frankly don't have the capacity to resist or effectively live in echo chambers. I strongly doubt it's not happening because you fight.people here fight too.people are fighting. many people in my community are protesting, I'm speaking out arranging people.its just not as easy as you are laying down ..the power dynamics here are completely different the in other countries.its an ultramilitarized police state, which has weaponized the media and social media to spread propaganda.... I get that you're frustrated but I also think maybe you're not understanding the complexities of how Americans ended up in this situation
I'm fortunate to be able to even have the time and privilege and health to even think about or be aware of this shit. so many are homeless or stuck in work burnout I don't think it's just 'oh we get what we voted for' not even 'we get what we don't resist' it's just not easy to resist such a massive scale operation in the smaller numbers of us that have the time and health.not to mention people that I care about are part of vulnerable groups ..so I kinda have to care. it's not like that for most people.
that being said I still think this Greenland stuff is all talk, it's a pipedream.were way too busy interfering in the middle east to justify an actual invasion of one of our neighbors much less one allied on NATO. I mean it's not impossible but I really do think this Greenland talk is aassoce distraction. afaik the real gem of the DoD rn is the middle east,.which is still fucked imo..but I would be shocked if they added invading ducking Greenland to the list, it's just a distraction or at least thats what I think I guess we'll just have to see
either way I fucking hate it here, if you know how alerican government works then you should know thaty state voted their part against the orange but also nobody wants to support the Dems because they are the same facists. at the same time the establishment actively colludes against and black balls any third party and the way our voting system is setup quite literally makes it impossible for any third party to challenge the establishment. I think it's important you know this as well, unless I like have the time and money to run multi state campaigns bigger than like the tens of billions the eastblishment can throw around to brainwash people (billionaires also bribe people) it's kind of impossible
anyways idk, we're trying I do think the people will prevail it's just going to take time to undo the harm and there's no point in us pointing the finger at anyone other than the bastards doing it.

Take a look in the mirror, you literally commented on a post mocking pro-Palestine protestors for not voting for the Democrats and voting for Stein when, as always, it's up to the parties to bring in the voters and not feel entitled to votes because "oh but that person is worse bro!"
But I wouldn't expect an American to know how the right to vote how you want works. Democrats failed in not listening to their base and instead listened to monied interests from Israel, and therefore lost votes from people who dared to think that bombing innocent civilians and toddlers was bad.

How was they shilling for Stein? Seems to me they were equating the fact that he's mad Americans didn't get out and vote with a past post of your where you expressed frustration that other Americans got out and voted for Stein.
If I had to guess they didn't want anyone voting Stein either. As Canadians we just wanted you guys to just show you learned after 2016. Forgive us if we're a little mad considering all of the "51st state" threats that we're forced to listen to daily up here. Do you know how frightening it is to have to think every day for months that you could be invaded by one of the worlds 2 superpowers? We're mad up here right now, and hearing Americans say "yeah well what about what WE'RE going through" when we didn't even have a say in this bullshit, is just very, very annoying.
