Then what happens when he kills another CEO and says to you got the wrong man.

Call a copycat for the first part, call a liar (and any proof fake) for the second. Helps that the US federal government rejects the concept of "fact" anyway.

It could lead to some uproar, but maybe that's a risk they're willing to take, or simply ignore.
