Have you tried messaging the mods of either subreddit for the possibility of a merger?

imo the problem isn't fragmentation, but the fact that most of the !buyfromeu@feddit.org people probably aren't even aware of !buyeuropean@feddit.uk.

To be honest, they have been posting links to that other community under pretty much every post. It did get a bit annoying in my opinion (as a normal user) too.
