Also, is it really newsworthy if we keep hearing the same thing over and over again?

Ah, yes, that.

I can't fix everything. I can't fix most things. I pay attention to those not with a mind towards "what can I do to fix this for everyone forever," because that's simply not possible.

The mindset I do need to be in is one of "be prepared to protect myself and my family and friends." That has to be my priority now, and having some awareness of what I need to protect us all from is important. Just yesterday, I was thinking about how it may eventually be necessary to go get gasoline with two people, so that one can stand guard while the other fills containers.

Edit: And by "eventually" I mean "at any moment."
