A lot of the people who do that set up bots to crosspost their content rapidly and broadly as well as deleting and reposting stuff to make it rise to the top and stay there. The worst of these people get banned by Reddit for this so I don't see why Lemmy instances would tolerate that kind of behavior anywhere near the amount Reddit does.
