SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — The black boxes of a Boeing jetliner that crashed in South Korea last month stopped recording about four minutes before the accident, South Korean officials said Saturday, possibly complicating investigations into the cause of the disaster that killed 179 people.

In other words, someone didnt like what the last 4 minutes showed, so they had them scrubbed.

They Lost AC power 4 minutes before the crash. That'll happen when you lose both engines.

This airframe was built in 2009, and independent battery for the black boxes was made mandatory for aircraft built after 2010 I believe.

Hope they change this and retrofit.
